The frosted, precision-ground glass surfaces make a good seal when properly greased and Laboratory Appliance
Quartz Machined solid ball joints are used for apparatus requiring joints with extra strength, durability and dimensional consistency.
As each joint has a standard taper, any two joints with the same outside diameter can fit into each other.

Size

The glass joint size is described by a number of xx/yy.
XX indicates the inner diameter of the external joint, or the outer diameter of the internal joint, yy indicates the length.
Common standard sizes are as follows, 14/20, 19/22, 24/40
