The working material of neodymium doped yttrium aluminum garnet laser is yttrium aluminum garnet crystal doped with trivalent neodymium ion (Nd3 +). Its chemical expression is Y3Al5O12: Nd3 +, which is light purple and usually processed into a round rod.

The thermal conductivity of the crystal is good, and the laser oscillation characteristics are less affected by the temperature rise of the crystal.
